We will have our annual voting and reports.</p> <p> </p> <h2><span style="text-decoration: underline">*IMPORTANT* – Proposed update to FCAI Bylaws</span></h2> <p>In accordance with Article X of the bylaws and Idaho Code § 30-30-709, notice is hereby given that a proposed amendment to the bylaws will be presented for vote at the upcoming Annual Meeting of Members to be held on:</p> <p>Date: Thursday, March 5, 2026<br /> Time:  7:00pm-8:30pm MST<br /> Location:  Online – <a href="https://meet.google.com/nfh-hguz-hjm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Join Here</a></p> <p>The proposed amendment would modify Article X, Section 1 (Amendments)</p> <ul> <li>Here is <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qX9V9i-NDjI2EjZlwDkOyZRpPl2Q_Cg2/view?usp=sharing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A copy of the current Bylaws (2023 version)</a>.</li> <li>Here is the proposed amendment in legislative format showing existing language and proposed changes. <ul> <li> <h5><strong>EXISTING VERBIAGE: </strong></h5> <p><em>These Bylaws may be amended as authorized in the Articles of Incorporation. These </em><em>require a two-thirds majority of members present at any annual or special meeting. The d</em><em>irectors shall notify the members, at least 14 days prior to the meeting, of such </em><em>amendments including legislative format showing the previous text and exact changes </em><em>proposed.</em></li> <li> <h5><strong>PROPOSED VERBIAGE: </strong></h5> <p><em>These bylaws may be amended, altered, or repealed, and new bylaws may be adopted, by unanimous vote of all sitting Directors at any properly noticed meeting of the Board of Directors. Such action shall require that all Directors are present or provide written consent and that the vote is unanimous.</em><br /> <em>The membership shall not have authority to amend these bylaws unless such authority is later restored by amendment adopted by the Board of Directors.</em></li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Pursuant to the current bylaws, with a quorum, adoption of this amendment requires a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of members present at the meeting.</p> <h4><strong>We encourage all members to attend and participate in this important governance decision.</strong></h4> <p>We will have a copy of the new bylaws available and will be sent via email after the vote.</p> <p> </p> <h2><span style="text-decoration: underline">Education Series:  Virtual Memorial Gatherings – Tips from a Pro</span></h2> <p>Virtual memorial gatherings are a beautiful and intimate option for end-of-life care and memorialization. They are a great way to include people who are unable to attend an in-person memorial due to distance, timing, expenses, childcare, etc.</p> <p>During this presentation, we’ll discuss the many benefits and potential challenges of gathering virtually, how best to navigate virtual platforms, and how to create a gathering that honors and celebrates your loved one. We’ll include pro tips on how to host your own virtual memorial and recommendations on provider considerations during vendor selection. We’ll close with a time of interactive Q&A to explore all of your questions.</p> <p>This year we are honored to welcome our guest speaker and FCAI board member, <strong>Brock Sheets</strong> from Willowise, an online memorial provider.</p> <ul> <li>Brock is the Founder of <a href="https://Willowise.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Willowise</a>, an online memorial provider. Brock’s dad, <img class="size-medium wp-image-1587 alignright" src="https://idahofunerals.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Brock-Profile-Pic-300x300.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="300" />David, passed away unexpectedly due to Covid in early 2021. As the Sheets family was processing through this sudden loss, they decided a virtual memorial service was going to be the most effective way to honor David’s life and legacy. Having lived & served as a pastor in 11 different churches across 5 states, David’s “community” was spread out across the entire US. Travel to a single memorial service location simply wasn’t possible for all who loved David and called him friend.</li> <li>Brock spent 9+ years marketing, guiding the website design, producing webinars, hosting virtual meetings, and delivering virtual education for a professional association. This experience was perfectly suited to create a beautiful tribute website and a moving memorial service with over 500 people in attendance.
